Whale watching in the wild and pristine waters of Icy Strait, where Humpback whales are abundant and sighted on every trip, with small business owner Captain Josh! Otter and Steller Sea Lions are also very common, with Orcas, Brown Bears, and other wildlife frequently sighted!

Owned and operated by our own Captain Josh, he will be your personal guide as he navigates the wilderness waters of Icy strait. What makes his tours special is the energy he has and the creative ways he finds to show you his beloved wildlife, so that you can really see and appreciate these creatures with him, and to make every tour amazing.

His 14 passenger vessel was designed specifically for whale watching on Alaska's waters, and will provide a safe and stable viewing platform for you. He also provides the one truly Drone-integrated whale watching tour in the world, providing you with views and videos of wildlife that are truly unique, and at the end of it, you get to take the footage from your tour home!

Wow wow wow!!!!! Captain Josh and his brother gave us an amazing experience. He definitely knows where to look to get the best siting's and is very knowledgeable. We had some breath-taking views of the hump backs bubble netting. I cannot rate this experience enough. Josh is really passionate at giving you the best experiences whilst keeping the safety of the whales as a priority. We felt very safe in his boat, which is perfect for viewing at the front and rear, so everyone has space to look out and take their perfect photo. Also, his brother takes drone footage of the whales that are spotted so that you can see more from above how they are interacting with each other. Thank you so much. Would 100% recommend.

I switched over to Captain Josh's boat from another local provider, and it was one of the best decisions we made on this trip. We hitched a ride to Hoonah with the Travel Adventures bus, and the good captain met us at the bus stop to lead us to his boat. My father and I went, along with 5 other passengers, out on the seas with Josh and his younger brother, and had an amazing time with the orcas. A group of 15 orcas were in the harbor, and they were having as much fun as we were. We even saw the calves breaching and playing around with the older orcas! Josh then sped us over to a breaching humpback mother and her calf, and then over to some sea otters and Stellar sea lions, and on our way back, we saw another whale in the harbor. What an incredible day. Josh was full of facts about all the animals we saw, and his younger brother (whose name I'm forgetting... I'm sorry!) was in charge of getting the drone set up and the footage downloaded onto the computer for purchase. We were available to view some of it from the ship's monitor and it looked so cool. If you're heading to Alaska in the 2023 season and looking for a whale watch company, this is the one to pick.

My goal was to see orcas and boy did we. The drone actually caught one of them chasing and catching a salmon. While it is rare to see orcas, this would have been a great excursion even if we hadn't seem them. We saw humpback whales and lots of other sea life. Captain Josh was very knowledgeable about everything and a gracious host. Also, the drone views gave us a perspective other tours just can't give. I highly recommend the tour!
