Lovers Key Guided Eco Tour-Mangrove Estuary

Overview

This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

What To Expect

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

I went out on a tour today and had an AMAZING time, we saw so much wildlife like Osprey, Manatees, Starfish & an Urchin! Stephen was the guide and he had so many fun facts and was great about answering questions and pointing out wildlife and talking about Florida’s habitat! Such a great time and I can’t wait to get back out there again! ☀️

My husband and I went on the guided kayak tour and loved every minute of it! We paddled all the way into the bay and were able to watch a few dolphins playing around. Stephan was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife. When we visit again, we will absolutely do another tour. It was so peaceful and I'm sure every tour is unique dependent on the animals in the area.

Excellent! If you are someone who appreciates nature this kayak tour is for you. Our guide, Steve, took us all around this beautiful area. Steve was very knowledgeable about all of the types of fish, birds and any and all types of trees and flowers. Steve knew exactly where to find the manatees by watching for ripples in the water. It was amazing to see these beautiful creatures up close! I really can’t say enough good things about Steve. He knows the area very well and had a lot of patience for two people without much Kayak experience. Plus, he brought his dog! Lovers Key State Park also has one of the most beautiful beaches in that area. Don’t miss Captain Phil’s snack shack-great burgers and ice cold soda. I spent a week in Fort Meyers and this was no doubt the best part of my vacation.
