We did a kayak tour of the mangroves with Stephen, and he was an amazing guide!!! We unfortunately did not get to see dolphins or manatees (just the way the cookie crumbled that day), but he went out of his way to get us up close and personal with other wildlife. He was very informative and individualized the tour based on our interactions and requests. We had a great time and will definitely use him again!! P.s. I browsed the one/two star reviews, because I was curious as to what they could even say. One person was upset there are no concessions....? I’ve never even seen a state park with concessions on the beach. Another person mentioned it being unsafe because of alligators. I posed that concern myself and Stephen explained it was very rare to see them and if they did they were small, unaggressive ones. Not to mention Stephen has Bowzer, his little pup, tag along and Bowzer is the perfect size for an alligator meal, so I fully trusted that injury from alligators was not a legitimate concern.

Amazing! Great! We booked a guided kayak tour with Stephen for our family of 5, with our kids aged 7,9 and 11. It was a fantastic morning and well worth it. Stephen was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the ecosystem and guided us to the best spots to see all the wildlife, including the wonderful manatees. They came right up to the kayaks and watched us. Wow!

What an amazing day! I have lived in Florida for over 30 years and had a visitor in from CA, so I thought it would be good if she could see maybe a manatee or two. I booked a guided kayak tour with Stephen and on this particular day, we got to hang out with an entire herd - they were so sweet and swam around and under our kayaks for almost an hour! Stephen was even a little surprised at how long they stayed around. After enjoying those gentle giants, Stephen continued with the tour and gave a very knowledgeable and passionate explanation of the habitat and why the Mangroves are so important to Florida. He even took pictures and videos for us all while his dog Bowser enjoyed the trip too! Great experience, highly recommend Stephen and the tour!
