Lovers Key Guided Eco Tour-Mangrove Estuary

Overview

This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

What To Expect

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

It was a girlfriends week in Ft Myers and we love to be outdoors. We rode our bicycles around Lovers Key State Park from our condo and found the kayak adventure tour at the park. We signed up for the guided tour with Stephen, Bowzer and Andrew. Stephen and Andrew did an excellent job explaining the ecosystem in the area while Bower chilled and wagged his tail. We saw many birds, some tarpon, and some manatees swam up close. It was a great trip. Thanks again Stephen, Andrew and the wags of Bowzer.

We had a great tour with Steve and Andrew! The day started out overcast but soon the sun came out and so did the manatees! Steve and Andrew pointed out manatees, birds, fish, shellfish and taught us so much about the local ecosystem. Don’t pass this up!

I took the Kayaking estuary tour at Lover's Key state park with Stephen Denmark yesterday. Stephen was gracious enough to do a solo tour for me. Stephen is very knowledgeable on the ecosystem and wildlife and it's very obvious at how much he loves it and how much he loves to share his knowledge. We didn't see any manatee or dolphins, but we did see Tarpon, mullets, eagles, osprey, and a couple huge blue Herons. The trip was extremely fun and relaxing and I strongly recommend it for anyone who enjoys being out with nature.
