Lovers Key Guided Eco Tour-Mangrove Estuary

Overview

This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

What To Expect

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

This was our first trip to Florida, and our first guided kayak tour there. Stephen was so very informative, warm, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. No question was too silly. The experience was the highlight of our trip to Florida and we would definitely do it again! Each trip would be different depending on time of day. We went on the tour from 10 AM-Noon and saw a 4 ft. gator, many types of birds, learned about the mangroves and other flora, and had a relaxing and stimulating morning. I'm so glad we did the tour instead of just renting on our own, as Stephen was able to give us information on what we were seeing. He's an expert on the area and it shows! I'll never forget that day!

We took a kayak tour with Stephen Denmark on Christmas Day. So happy we did the tour instead of just renting kayaks and paddling around. Stephen was super friendly and accommodating, so great with kids, and passionate/knowledgeable about the area. We got so much more out of the tour than if we'd gone out on our own. We saw dolphin, tarpon, manatees and he pulled a giant lightning whelk out of the water. Love that he brought his dog along with us too. Highly recommend!!

Went on a kayak tour with Steve Denmark (tour guide) and it was absolutely incredible. We even went with a 2 and half year old child and he was very accommodating. We, as a group of 5, were educated on the mangroves and shown the natural beauty of the park. I would highly recommend visiting Steve Denmark if you're in the area and looking for a great tour guide.
