Lovers Key Guided Eco Tour-Mangrove Estuary

Overview

This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

What To Expect

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

My 3 kids and I spent 3 hours kayaking with Stephen and his beagle companion through Lovers Key State Park mangrove estuaries. Stephen was a delightful guide and very knowledgeable about the SW Florida flora and fauna. We were delighted to see a couple of manatees, as well as a pregnant seahorse and several types of birds. Stephen even took our photo and sent us those as well as the sea horse pictures. A very fun and informative way to enjoy the wildlife of SW Florida!

We took a fun kayak tour with Stephen through the mangroves. We saw 3 manatees, a crab, seahorse and a bald eagle plus several types of birds. It was a beautiful way to spend a morning on the ocean. Stephen is really knowledgeable and gave us a great tour.

Take this guided tour! Steven was so great! Super helpful, very knowledge, and went above and beyond for all of us on the tour! We saw manatee's, star fish, jelly fish, hermit crabs, sea urchins, several different kinds of beautiful birds, and learned so much about the history of the area, pirate stories included, and the ecosystem, all from Steven! We had a single and a double kayak for 3 of us, 1 senior, 1 adult, and 1 8 year old, easy to use and very safe! Highly recommend this fantastic experience!
