Lovers Key Guided Eco Tour-Mangrove Estuary

Overview

This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

What To Expect

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

This was an amazing experience start to finish! Easy to book, great communication and information in the getting to the place and what to expect. The guide, Steve, was a true joy! His knowledge and love for his job, for Florida and for nature was amazing! He put every one in our group at ease with his calm demeanor and extensive knowledge of the environment. I can’t say enough great things about him! Right off the bat we were surrounded by manatees and I was in Heaven! We learned about the different fish, mammals and wild life as well as the mangroves and trees in the area and the important roll they play in the echo system. There were first time kayakers, children and seasoned kayakers in our tour and everyone had an incredible time!! Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time on the eco tour with our guide Karen! We saw many different birds, lots of mullet fish jumping out of the water and a manatee! Karen was a wealth of information and we loved having her as our guide! We learned so much from her about the area! Lover’s Key State park is beautiful! Highly recommend this tour and Karen!

Karen was an awesome tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. Although we did not see any manatees or dolphins, the kayaking was great!
