Many visitors prefer the Lower Antelope Canyon to the Upper because it is less crowded, has light throughout, is longer, and offers great variety. What To Expect

Lower Antelope Canyon

Tour Departure Point: Lower Antelope Canyon Indn Route 222 Page, AZ, 86040 Antelope Canyon Tours departs every 1/2 hour a quarter after and a quarter till the hour, the tour is a 1.5 hours waling tour and climbing down some ladders is involved. Please wear comfortable shoes for this 600 meter trip. Lower Antelope Canyon Tours has smaller group sizes and the guide stays with you during the entire tour, sharing information about the geology, history, and Navajo Traditional ways. The Lower Antelope Canyon tends to be less crowded than the Upper Antelope Canyon and is preferred by many because of its narrow canyon walls and ladders that take you to the levels that have been carved by flash floods from the upper mesas. The sandstone walls are exquisitely formed, and the Lower Antelope Canyon offers a longer canyon exploration.

At the time I visited Lower Antelope Canyon I had been traveling by myself for nearly 2 weeks. I had been to 3 national parks and seen quite a few sites. This was my last stop before heading home and boy was it the cherry on top! One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen was complemented by a wonderful guide (Oren) and a tour that was equal parts informative and fun. Our guide knew exactly where and how to take the most beautiful pictures and was happy to show us all and even take many for us. I also love that they only allow you, your camera or phone and a bottle if water and that’s it. No bags or selfie sticks etc made for a really nice experience. Would highly recommend this place and this tour company!

We had a wonderful tour with Oliver who was a really good guide. He was very knowledgeable and careful on the tour. He pointed out things and told us things that really made a difference on the tour. Besides features on the tour there was the feature of a blue sky seahorse later in the tour. You scramble around a bit, but the tour was a most enjoyable event. Thanks again to Oliver.

Once we went down the ladder,I was worried this would not be what I wanted because there were quite a few groups standing there and it was very crowded. But our group was called and we followed guide. And WOW it was amazing. Jessie was an awesome guide and we would definitely do this again. Well worth the money.
