Lower Loop Van Tour from West Yellowstone: Grand Prismatic and Old Faithful

Overview
This Active Van Tour is a great way to see Yellowstone National Park beginning in the fun gateway town of West Yellowstone. The early morning part of the tour explores wildlife haunts in the famous Shadow Canyon of the Madison River. This area is home to bear and elk.

Later we hike to an overlook of the famous Grand Prismatic Hot Springs. If you don't feel like walking we find a safe, scenic spot for you to wait for the group near the van.

Next we explore the Old Faithful area, including some time at the famous Old Faithful Inn.

We continue over the continental divide at Isa Lake and down to the West Thumb Geyser Basin on Yellowstone Lake for a view of some spectacular lakeside thermal pools.

Continuing our drive along Yellowstone Lake we arrive in the Hayden Valley where big herds of bison roam.

Finally, we arrive at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to view the canyon and the amazing falls (one is almost 200 feet tall!). The day concludes back at West Yellowstone.

This is a great way to hit the highlights of Yellowstone. You don't need to plan your route and no driving. Our tour guide, Annemarie, was awesome! In addition to having a wealth of knowledge about the park and its history, she was able to tell us all about the wildlife as well. She also knew the best times to visit the various sites. On top of all that, we were fortunate to see bison, elk, osprey in their nest, a mama bear and cub, and mule deer. And, of course, we saw Old Faithful erupt. A great first visit to Yellowstone!

Yellowstone Park is amazing. We feel so fortunate to have been able to visit. The whole experience was enhanced by our tour guide Josh. His local knowledge, willingness to make our day perfect and of course his warm, friendly disposition were beyond expectation. We thoroughly recommend this tour.

From the beginning, when Dallas picked us up at our hotel we felt comfortable and excited to start this tour. Dallas was polite, outgoing and very knowledgeable about the Park. Our group was relaxed and comfortable as he engaged us in conversation. Dallas added trivia to his presentation of our park tour. We were all engaged with his knowledge of our National Park System.
