Swimsuits and shorts work best. Secure shoes with a heel-strap are required (tennis shoes, water shoes, or sport sandals with a heel-strap). Bare feet and flip-flops are not allowed. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and a towel

What To Expect

Pigeon River

We have a big facility with picnic tables and a food truck, plenty of parking. We are located by the Pigeon river and there is a campground right next to us.

Smoky Mountain Outdoors Rafting

The River Outpost is where all customers check in to go down the river. Everyone needs to show up 45 minutes before there schedule time in order to check in.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

My father, my 5 year old son and I recently did the Lower Pigeon River rafting tour and we had a blast! Our guide, Aeron, was very knowledgable about the river - she constantly gave us fun facts and pointed out interesting sights and things along the way. Everything went smoothly and it was just a great family trip. I highly recommend this tour of the Pigeon and definitely ask for Aeron for a guide- she was great! :)

Everyone I spoke with from the time of making the reservation to the day of our arrival was very polite and professional. We had a group of 30+, adults, young children and teenagers. Each group enjoyed their experience guide! Special thanks to Hope, Birdman, Bo, Jeremy, and Santiago.

My mother (70), myself and my two boys (8 & 12) had a nice time rafting down the lower. It was very calm with about 2 rapids. I didn’t expect sitting and locking your feet in to be so uncomfortable though. Our guide was nice and had LOTS of energy. It’s not something I would do again but a fun “one time” experience. We did buy a groupon and that process was easy. The total time on the river was an hour. They do charge $2 for a locker. There restroom and changing area was okay. The sanitizing process for the helmets and vests was gross. You dip both items in a tub of water. Yuck! That was my biggest complaint. Otherwise is was a good trip.
