What To Expect

Mackinac Bridge

Take a trip under the Mackinac Bridge aboard Ugly Anne (an authentic North Atlantic wooden lobster boat from the Gulf of Maine). Information will be given by a local guide about the over 80 shipwrecks, building of the Mackinac Bridge and the car ferries that traversed the Straits for over 100 years. See Fort Michilimackinac and Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse from the water. Enjoy the cruise with historic video footage, live narration from natives to the Northern Great Lakes region, while traveling under the Mackinac Bridge. Questions are encouraged while on the tour.

Definitely worth it. Wasn’t sure how much I was actually going to enjoy it, but it really was a lot of fun. Definitely a new way to see the bridge!

A tour boat from Mackinaw City to, and under, the Mackinac Bridge. (The world's third longest suspension bridge.) The crew does provide commentary about the area, the origins of The Ugly Annie tour boat, The Mackinac Bridge and the United States Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw. an icebreaker that is now a museum. The tour is approximately one hour long and definitely gives you unique photo opportunities of the Mackinac Bridge. Adult beverages and soft drinks are available for a nominal fee. My family thoroughly enjoyed this brief tour and history lesson. I recommend this tour to others.

When we took the Shepler Ferry ride to Mackinaw Island, the captain have taken us under this bridge while narrating the story of how it was built. I thought that was a very cool extra trip! This bridge is massive. It was absolutely fun!
