Mackinaw City Parasailing

Overview

Parasailing is a water sport in which a person is towed behind a boat while attached to a parachute-like canopy. The parasail is suspended from a harness that is attached to the boat, and as the boat moves, the parasailer is lifted into the air and glides through the sky.

Parasailing in the Straits Area, you can see views of the famous Mackinac Bridge, see Mackinac Island from a distance and a birds eye view of the beautiful Lake Huron.

To participate in parasailing, you do not need any special skills or training. The activity is typically supervised by trained staff who will provide you with all the necessary equipment and instruction.

Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Is there weight restrictions? Yes, must be at least 125lbs and combined weight for flying tandem, no more than 450lbs. Wind and water conditions may allow for changes to these per the captain.

Went tandem parasailing with my 8yo boy. It was a blast. Not that the island isn’t exciting, but this broke up the monotony of fudge, horses and biking. Little man wasn’t scared at all and the captain reassured him that it was safe. Smooth ride and beautiful view. Will make it a staple of our future trips to Mackinac. Excellent time.

My adult daughter and I were in Mackinac city celebrating my 71st birthday. Having gone to the dark park on August 6, we were looking for something to do on the morning of August 7. She suggested parasailing and called right away and fortunately we were able to get a 9 AM spot👍 (on Monday, August 7.) The captain and his mate were great! Never having done it before, they were very informative and comforting! The takeoff and landing were smooth as can be, and, of course, the view with the Mackinac bridge were amazing! We felt very comfortable, knowing that there was nothing near us that we could run into (we were in the middle of Lake Huron! ) A wonderful experience! I would suggest not waiting till you’re 71 years old to do it 🤣 I would definitely like to go back for the sunset❗️ (having done this last minute, and being our first time, I did not research to know that if you are prone to motion sickness, you may want to take something for it before hand.)
