Loved Mad Apple. All the music, acrobats, dancing, comics and singers were amazing. The comics had me laughing so much my stomach was hurting. The acrobats were wonderful and so talented. The singers were beyond amazing and had such beautiful voices. Dancers were beautifully dressed and performed well. This has been one of my favorite Cirque shows including ā€œOā€.

Just saw Mad Apple. Sooooooo good! Small theatre, you feel really near the performers. Incredible musicians, starts with epic version of Empire State Of Mind and builds from there. Tons of acrobats and daredevil stuff - and you’re so close to it that you can see them pant and sweat, it’s really cool. Spread out through it are 4 comedians - Brad Williams was my favorite, he’s hilarious. Came out feeling excited, money v well spent...

We saw the show on May 25. Technically it was still in the preview stage. I've seen all the Cirque shows multiple times. I didn't think this one was nearly up to par with Mystere or O or Love. Just not on the same level. The stage is the old Zumanity stage. Audience members can actually go up and buy drinks from the bar on stage before the show starts. That was fun. A very small Margarita is about $20. That's fine. It's Las Vegas. The show reminded me a little of Zumanity. Lots of forced frivolity. There's a Master or Ceremonies character who starts out with a NY type accent, then switches to an English accent. It would have made more sense for him to stay with the NY accent since it's supposed to be about the Big Apple. The dancing is good. There's some good singing. The acrobats are nothing we haven't seen in the other shows. Nothing spectacular except there are two young men who do a lot of flips. They are good and lots more exciting than a similar act in Mystere. They are very lively. Best act in the show! The biggest problem is with the comedians. Brad Williams is probably the best one. He does lots of jokes about people's sizes relative to each other. His language is pretty blue. Lots of F words that don't serve much purpose. I don't object to foul language, especially in comedy, but usually it's more effective if it's inserted for a specific purpose. One of the other guys plays a real swishy fella. It seemed to me to be affected rather than the way he really is. He picks on people in the audience. This happens a lot among Las Vegas comedians. His remarks just weren't very funny. He also did a little magic in which he was pulling baby pictures out of an envelope. Not funny. The worst comedian was a boy who set up a rap using subjects he solicited from the audience. The whole set up took way too long, and the rap was over in such a very short time and wasn't particularly clever or easily understood. Again, the comedians brought the show down. Their bits were too long and just not particularly funny. I've been to lots of comedians and appreciate a good one, These may get better as they learn to gage the audience and know more about how long they need to stay on so that the other acts can be ready to come back out and do a dance or a song or something. They seem to be filler in between other acts. It wasn't a bad show. I enjoyed it and had been looking forward to a new happening in Las Vegas. Again, I think it will get better. It's just not nearly as slick or outstanding as the other big Cirque shows.
