What To Expect

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens

The history and beauty of Magnolia Plantation has stood the test of time. It is also the only Plantation on the Ashley River that survived both the American Revolution and the Civil War. It is one of the oldest plantations in the south and is also known as America's most beautiful Garden. This guided Magnolia Plantation Tour comes with round trip transportation in our climate controlled buses. All gate fees are included in the price of this 4.5 hour tour and will allow you to step back in time, so you can experience Magnolias incredible history. On this tour, you will experience a 45-minute narrated tram ride past slave cabins, through swamps, rice fields and see wildlife such as alligators, egrets, herons, and turtles on the nearly 600 acre plantation and garden visit. You will also receive a guided walk through America's last large scale Romantic Garden, which is also known as America's most beautiful Garden.

The trip was well organized. Van left on time and we did a walking tour of the gardens when we arrived at the plantation. As soon as we completed the walking tour we got on the tram and toured the entire plantation seeing a lot of wildlife. Once the tram tour was complete we had our tour of the plantation house. Had about 30 minutes to shop and/or get something from the snack shop before we left.

Very relaxing excursion to experience the wonderful Magnolia Plantation. Our guide was quite informative and friendly. Considerable interesting history of the old south. Well worth the effort. Highly recommended!

We had an excellent experience with Adventure Sightseeing to Magnolia Plantation. The tour included transportation from Charleston, the beautiful gardens, a tour of the plantation house, and the Nature Train. From the Nature Train we could see egrets, blue herons, and alligators, among other animals. Alan was our tour guide, he was very knowledgeable. It was great!
