This tour was great! It even exceeded our expectations. Our driver/tour guide, Alan, was knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. The only plantation itself was fascinating. Very well worth the time and trip. Thanks, Alan.

Our driver, Shawn, with Adventure tours was excellent. His knowledge of the plantation and it history was second to none and as he said he learns more from being asked questions by those visiting and then finding answers if he does not know them. The drive to and from the plantation was very good indeed and once there the tour of the gardens, given by Shawn, fantastic. Life on the plantation and how the rice was grown and cultivated was explained in detail. Our house tour was given by Jason who expertly guided us around the house and explained in great detail how the house, and those that were no longer there, severed the family. The nature tour again was excellent and worth the time... The amount of wild life we saw good, alligators, both very young and not too young. The birds that inhabit the plantation along with the 'wild boar' were detailed. The various trees and ponds as well as insect life were also detailed. This is somewhere everyone who comes to Charleston should make time to see!

Our guide Alan was great. The nature train guide Dick was amazing, too. The gardens werde really beautiful and we saw some alligators. But the gardens are very natural so do not expect roses or something. But the forests and the swamps are breathtaking. The house tour provided lots of interesting information about the house and its former residents. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are interested in nature and history.
