This trip was outstanding. Our guide, John, was truly wonderful: helpful, respectful and knowledgeable. We saw many, many turtles, learned about Maui and swam with the turtles. It was a truly spiritual experience.

We had differing levels of experience and fitness in our group. John Hess made sure we were all comfortable with our equipment and paddling form before we entered the water. We went out to the original Turtle Town, where we were one of three small groups, so we had actual face time (as in- surfaced a couple meters away) with turtles. John got into the water with us and gave us a tour of his favorite parts of the reef. We saw turtles at the turtle car wash, lots of cool fish and other marine life.
