We were blown away by our kayak & snorkel adventure with John! My partner was a bit nervous, not much of a swimmer/kayaker, but John made us feel safe and comfortable, explaining everything we needed to know along the way. I appreciated that it was a smaller group (8 total) - especially seeing how different our experience would have been passing the large boats that just dump 100 people in the water essentially. John kept us interested the whole trip, and clearly knew his stuff! He took us to the "turtle cleaning station" and helped all of us safely get out of and into our boats (no hassle, I promise!). I was expecting to see a fleeting turtle or two, but this place had so many. We got so close to the turtles, we had to be careful to not accidentally touch them. There were also tons of tropical fish and beautiful sea urchins. It was absolutely amazing. John is also an expert diver and wildlife educator, so he took us to a spot and dove down and found a little octopus! Everyone in our group who wanted to got to hold it, which was very cool. Anyway, even if you're nervous about water or not a snorkeler (like me!), trust me, you can do this and it is so worth it! We both kept on our life jackets for the snorkel too, so you don't have to be a strong swimmer to see all of this. 12/10!

We had a great morning kayaking and snorkeling with sea turtles. Tristan was an outstanding guide!! He shared Hawaiian history with us and always made sure we were all having a good time!! A must do when in Maui!!

John Shappell was our guide and he was awesome. So nice and I formative. We have a 13 & 15 year and they both thought that was the best excursion we did while in Maui. We saw several turtles and were so glad we paid extra for the photos!
