My husband and I enjoyed this tour with John. He has a thorough knowledge of the ocean and island which was very helpful. I was pretty nervous kayaking in the ocean but John made us all feel relaxed and at ease. My husband ended up snorkeling and loved it! We saw two turtles, an eel, and plenty of fish. I would recommend doing this tour in the morning when it’s not as sunny- it just means you have to wake up early (:

John Shappell was our guide and he was very knowledgeable. I was nervous when he was going through getting into and out of the water on the kayak but actually getting on and off was nice and easy. John made sure that we all got on easily. My husband got really seasick while we were kayaking and John tried his best to give him tips and get him in the water before it got too bad. Despite my husband's sea sickness, we both had a good time. He gave us some good tips on food and places to go after the trip and next time we'll check them out. He also offers to take photos of your experience which is great too because we didnt have our go pro w us. Thanks so much John!!

Tristan was our guide for 4 couples. He explained everything fully, helped us into our kayaks and got us out into the ocean without toppling over. Once out in the water, Tristan gave us some history of the Hawaiian Islands. We kayaked out to the turtle area, donned our snorkeling gear, and jumped in. I was slightly disappointed that we didn't see more fish, and the coral was just gray in color. I guess I was expecting more color. I did see one sea turtle, and watched him surface, but not everyone experienced that. None of this was Tristan's fault however. The most difficult part of the trip was launching ourselves back into the kayak, but we managed without dumping over! It was a fun morning.
