John Shappell was our guide for this kayak trip, and it was maybe the coolest thing my husband and I have ever done. John was knowledgeable about everything - tides, wind conditions, best spots to find turtles and when, etc. He was super helpful and made folks feel comfortable with kayaking, even people who had never done it before. John was friendly and funny and a great guide. Plus we did AMAZING snorkeling. We saw like a dozen turtles! Amongst other incredible stuff. Some people purchased a photo package for $60, so John was snapping pics as we explored. Truly an unforgettable experience. 10/10 would recommend!

John P? not sure of his last name was the absolute best guide and made sure we all had a great trip. I had the best time ever coming face to face with so many turtles! I could get so close i actually saw their teeth. This was our first time kyacking and for certain the first time in turtletown. I just returned home last night and could not wait to recommend this trip to everyone! It was so great and so much fun.

One of the best experiences of the whole trip. Highly recommend the Eco-Adventure guided by John. He is so knowledgeable, witty and helpful. It seemed as he commanded the turtles to appear by remote control. He made the experience unique and informative. He embodies the spirit of Aloha. It was a privilege sharing it with him. Go Tar Heels!
