We had John S. as our guide 2/8 and it was the most amazing experience. He’s funny and very knowledgeable. I appreciate his thorough review and assistance on getting on/off the kayaks safely. The whales were so active we ended up following them around the whole tour and it was worth it because we had such great close encounters with them on kayaks- appropriate distance of course. I was able to catch good video footage of mom and baby whale under us and was amazed and how close they were to us. My camera also caught the whales singing when I put it under water! Such a memorable activity and I am glad I have video/pictures to prove it!

I cannot express how great John was. Here I thought we were going to just kayak around and see some turtles but John took some time to make sure we saw some whales first. We could even hear the whales while sitting in our kayaks it was the coolest experience I’ve had in a long time. I left my phone behind because I didn’t want to risk losing it and for a fee they will take pictures for you. I mentioned to John that I’m a little scared of the ocean and he encouraged me to borrow some of the snorkel gear in case I change my mind about getting in the water. I’m really glad I took his advice. John made this such a great experience and I’m very glad he was our guide.

The kayak tour was incredible. Adult and juveniles whales approached our kayaks with great views. We also heard whales singing. Then the snorkel in Turtle Town revealed several turtles at a “cleaning station” with many tropical fish. Getting up for 7AM arrival was worth it to enjoy the quiet morning sunrise. Ask for John! He was professional, yet casual. He gave great instructions so we felt safe and knew the plan. Plus he just seemed to really enjoy his job and loves the environment and community he works in. He provides the convenient option of purchasing trip photos and videos as well. We are glad we went with this option.
