Overview

It’s an encounter unlike any other as you spend the morning floating gently in the endangered manatee’s favorite lounging spots on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. These friendly Florida herbivores just love to nuzzle, grip, and cuddle your kayak for a truly magical morning.

The kayaking adventure continues with a search for playful dolphins, often fishing actively nearby. As if beholding these majestic mammals in their element isn’t enough, you’ll likely enjoy many other Florida natives including pelicans, osprey, roseate spoonbills, horseshoe crabs, and even the occasional gator.

As visitors in the manatee’s natural habitat, you can expect to observe and study the famed Sea Cows. Keep in mind that we seek not to disturb, overwhelm, or disrupt the manatee’s natural behaviors, but rather let you experience them on their terms.

Clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet. Towel (left in car)
Water Shoes – sandals or Crocs that can be worn in the water
Bring an extra change of clothes just in case
Camera & Dry bag (optional) These are fairly useless to capture bioluminescence, but great for capturing people.

Any special personal paddling gear if you like
You may bring a flashlight, though we will provide a safety light.

Amazing kayaking adventure!! My boyfriend and I went on the Dolphin and Manatee encounter today for his birthday and we had an awesome time! Jadon was our main line of contact prior to booking. My boyfriend mentioned that of all the companies he’s called this year, last year and the year before... Jadon was by far the best! Jadon was very open and cheerful in providing information. This kind of vibe let you know how well someone loves their job, the people they serve and their character etc... Unfortunately, yesterday I did not have the chance to book in time for the 10 AM tour for today. So this morning we ended up calling around again to other companies to see if we could do early tours with them and the professionalism, charisma over the phone was lacking. My boyfriend was still was adamant on going with this company because of his initial contact with Jadon. So we opted to wait for the 3pm tour... not knowing who our tour guide was. As things would have it, Jadon ending up being scheduled to do our tour; coincidentally. Let me tell you, he is the best guide we have encountered and his phone manners translated to his in person presence! Jadon was very clear with his instructions, hilarious and made us feel comfortable with our kayaks. Today must have been the beginning of Dolphin season (I know it’s not) because we saw so many Dolphins and even many Manatees! We say Dolphins hunt and eat their prey... that was incredible! We also saw many species of bird and fish... We even saw a gator; almost full body!!! Let me tell you, please do this tour! I was very scared about being close to these animals but they are truly gentle giants and my boyfriend and Jadon made me feel safe! We were in heaven on the waters! Please book soon and ask for Jadon!! You will love your experience. We are about an hour out but we will defiantly be making our way out here again!! Thanks!

So glad we chose this company. Bob, our guide, was awesome! He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and really funny. It ended up just being my husband and myself on the tour. Lucky us! We saw many manatee, an alligator and a pod of dolphins! Could have stayed out all day. The mangroves were extremely peaceful. We didn’t see another human being the entire time. Just remarkable! It was truly an amazing experience. Look no further and book with this company immediately!! You won’t be disappointed!
