Today is the second time I have gone swimming with Manatees here, and I enjoyed it both times! This trip I had Captain Steve and Misty. They were both kind and made everyone feel comfortable. Once in the water, Misty made sure we had every opportunity to see manatees and seemed as happy to see them as we were. I am in town a few more days and plan to go again while Iā€™m here.

This experience reminded me more of a guided snorkeling experience than when I did a swim with dolphins experience. In most "swim with x" experiences you're in a very artificial environment with one or two animals and you have forced interactions that are more like tricks. For this experience it's helpful to think of it more like a great guided snorkeling experience. We met the guides, were sized for wet suits, and watched a quick informational video. We then boarded the boat and were treated to a bit more info from our two friendly and funny captains. We saw a TON of manatees and even some fish! The whole experience was great. Notes: - Early in the AM = smaller groups, beautiful sunrise, more manatees - Wear your swim suit and shoes you don't mind getting wet - totally up to you if you'd rather bring sweats you don't mind getting damp or a cover up you don't mind being a little chilly in - Bring cash for tipping your captains - If you have long hair or a beard be open to the idea of manatees exploring you up close and personal - doubly so if it is long and braided
