Manatees/Sunset/Bioluminescence Tour

Overview
Experience everything the wildlife refuge has to offer with three distinct experiences packed into one three-hour tour! Launch your kayak in the daylight and surround yourself with Florida’s most-loved endangered species, West Indian Manatees! Sit back while the gentle giants roll, sniff, and nuzzle all around you. Dolphins are also active this time of day as they wrangle their dinner in the adjacent cove.

Next, head out to Bird Island, a federally protected rookery, to watch hundreds of birds soar in overhead. Ibis, herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills and more all glide in their flocks to nest for the night. Be lulled into serenity by the gently rocking kayak as the sun descends for the night in the pinks, oranges, and reds of sunset.

Finally, the tour culminates in the season’s bioluminescent experience, whether it be summer bioluminescence, winter comb jelly bioluminescence, or a star-studded moonlit sky.

We had an awesome time during our combo tour. Our guide mark was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We checked every box and then some. Dolphins, manatee, gators, birds, bio, jellies, stars and more. Highly recommend and would certainly repeat!

This was by far the best kayak trip I’ve ever been on. We were not expecting to see everything on the trip due to the recent hurricane, but we ended up seeing everything and more than we expected! We saw manatees and all of us got to pet one!! We were very surprised at how friendly and gentle they are. We saw dolphins right off the beach, osprey, a small alligator, the comb jellies and even the bioluminescence! Our guide was very funny and humored us with taking our time to pet the manatees and being a little slow in our kayaks.

This is a bucketlist trip. Our guide Mark was fantastic! From kayak we saw manatees up close and personal, we watched an amazing sunset, and we captured the magic that even Disney can't in the bioluminescent waters. The Mondo 3hr tour is a must do if you are in the area. They also offer a military discount which I appreciated.
