Overview

I founded and own HONEST ECO. With Kentucky bluegrass roots and a B.S. in Biology, I found a world with a blue sea too alluring to ignore. I arrived to Key West in 2005. Now I have 10+ years of experience studying Biology and being on the water in Key West. I now own a small business with my wife and 2 young kids. We are trying to make a big impact by educating and leading by example. I'm very passionate about being respectful to the wildlife and the environment

What To Expect

Sand Key Reef

Snorkel, Kayak, Sail, and eat an amazing Fresh Organic Fruit, Veggies and Hummus from a local cafe. This is a 4.5 hour trip on the water! We will begin this experience on a spacious 42' sailing catamaran. With 1,092 Square Feet of deck space, plenty of room to relax. We will depart from the dock located at the Historic Seaport. Sail out to a mangrove island that we can only reach in a shallow draft boat. You will learn about our Key West ecosystem as you Kayak through Mangrove Islands. We will explore the distinct habitats of the Key West National Wildlife Refuge and learn about our diverse animals and plants We will head to another one of our favorite spots to snorkel on the reef, coral heads or a sponge garden. We take you to the best spot with the best visibility that day. Your mate will lead you around a calm snorkeling spot and point out animals that make our ecosystem unique and answer any questions. Snacks is provided from our favorite organic cafe Date and Thyme.

This was a highlight of out Key West vacation. We highly recommend spending some time with Nature Watch Kayak & Snorkel Eco Tour. Ask for Evan, he is the best! We had a great morning of kayaking, snorkeling and relaxing on the boat.

This trip was just amazing. I almost never make the effort to write reviews, but this trip was just fantastic. Our host was very friendly and made us feel welcome and at ease from the very beginning rather than, as other tours we have taken, a little too over the top and forced energetic. I have to admit the best part about the tour, was not that we saw dolphins, snorkeled with a large amount of reef and nurse sharks, sting rays, the kayaking in the mangroves, or the gracious and very delicious snacks we were given but the utter relaxation that our host had. At all times there was a "take your time" and "enjoy the nature" attitude rather than you have 10 minutes left on your tour let us rush back. For me, this makes a perfect trip. In the end our trip almost over-ran by 2 hours by the sheer kindness of our host. I would absolutely recommend Honest-Eco tours. It was great value for money and we will use them again when we return to Florida; overall fantastic.

I found HonestEco on Groupon when searching for budget friendly attraction options for my upcoming Key West vacation with my family. After reviewing the website I had some questions, so I called HonestEco directly. Jennifer was great to talk to, answered all my questions, and I ended up booking directly with her. When we arrived the morning of the trip our Captain Evan automatically made us feel comfortable and welcome. He had amazing knowledge of all the local wildlife and of the Unique Key West Ecosystem, as well as welcomed our many questions. He choose our Kayak/snorkeling locations based on that day's weather conditions (a bit windy) and even took us to an additional snorkeling location where we got to snorkel over a shipwreck! Every member of my family was engaged in the trip, and had so much fun. We even thought about booking a second tour for another day that week! We so enjoyed the fresh fruit, vegetables, and humus snacks provided by Evan. We also appreciated the company's commitment to being eco-friendly with their use of Klean Kanteens in lieu of single use plastic water bottles. We will definitely go back to HonestEco on future Key West trips and highly recommend that if you want the BEST Key West Kayak and Snorkel Tour to look no further and book here!
