Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour

Overview
Our tours are geared towards first time and new paddlers.  We go at your speed so you don't have to worry about going out and getting exhausted.  Grab a friend and come along for a unique adventure on the #1-rated Eco-Tour through the mangrove ecosystem. Choose your kayak - single or double - and glide in our shallow clear water over sponges, grass beds, and sandy patches. Looking down, you might see a small nurse shark, turtle, or stingray, or can observe dolphins and manatees. Above water, herons, pelicans, and ospreys settle on the mangroves and hunt for fish. While there are no guaranteed wildlife sightings, we always see something cool in this one-of-a-kind estuary ecosystem that starts right outside the back door of our shop.

Very nice place. They almost made the best of a rainy morning. The equipment was very good, the people were SUPER nice, and they were very knowledgable. So what was lacking? They had a lot of people sign up for a the morning tour and while they had 2 guides for the group, it really needed 3. You simply couldn’t hear the guide given the size of the group. The guide did all she could, encouraging people to come closer and ensuring that in some parts people around her changed so more could hear. That was excellent. But I’d have recommended a smaller group. That said, great tour. I’m sure that in any other week than the Christmas week the groups are smaller. And to make this tour fun despite the downpour... very impressive.

you hit the nail on the head, Klockner. if you ever get the chance to come on a week that isn't during Christmas rush, it will be more intimate and less like target on black friday morning :-) It was extra hard this year since the weather was bad for the scuba and snorkeling which only left us for people who wanted to get out. Typically, we have a maximum of 8 or 9 people per guide and often we do tours with 3-4 people. we will even do a tour for one if someone signs up as we feel strongly that we want to offer something on a consistent basis. thanks for being patient with us on our busiest time of year and also know that it is what enables us to provide year round service. Also thanks for taking time out to do a review. We really appreciate you input.

Windy day, but in the mangroves it was awesome! Mike was very knowledgeable about the mangroves and things we saw - especially the birds! Would loved to have spent more time out there! Highly recommend. We saw lots of birds, including the more reclusive Night Heron (I probably have the name wrong!), fish, jellyfish which were mesmerizing, and a few manatees! Love that they give some instructions before you get started regardless of your experience level just to make sure everyone is on the same page. This was a great trip for multi-generational excursion.

We went out on the paddle tour yesterday with my family. They were very disorganized and there were a lot of issues getting the tour started, we didn’t get onto the water until 45 minutes after our tour was supposed to start. Additionally we had to wait 30 minutes once on the water for the group ahead of us to exit the mangrove tunnels. However the guide was great and the mangroves were beautiful.

Sorry it was so crazy. A lot of people had their snorkeling and diving trips cancelled and we tried to help them make the most of their vacation. Glad you enjoyed the trip once it got started. This is the busiest time of year for us so if you ever get a chance to visit during the slow months you'll find our tours are a lot more personal.
