Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour

Overview
Our tours are geared towards first time and new paddlers.  We go at your speed so you don't have to worry about going out and getting exhausted.  Grab a friend and come along for a unique adventure on the #1-rated Eco-Tour through the mangrove ecosystem. Choose your kayak - single or double - and glide in our shallow clear water over sponges, grass beds, and sandy patches. Looking down, you might see a small nurse shark, turtle, or stingray, or can observe dolphins and manatees. Above water, herons, pelicans, and ospreys settle on the mangroves and hunt for fish. While there are no guaranteed wildlife sightings, we always see something cool in this one-of-a-kind estuary ecosystem that starts right outside the back door of our shop.

We had a lovely kayak tour with Dan. He worked hard to try to find us animals to spot in the wild, and he was on a standup paddleboard as we kayaked. He was great about sharing information about the area, the mangrove types and the wildlife. The paddle itself was the easiest we'd done in years - it was very light. The mangrove canal we went into was lovely, with a swimming hole partway down. We had a little extra time toward the end so he took us up the manmade creek by the paddle shop, to look for wildlife. Near the shop we did see nurse sharks and a manatee, along with really big tarpon. In the natural canal, we saw little crabs, jellyfish (not painful ones) and other fish. We enjoyed our trip and the outfitter was organized. Dan took good care of us.

Becca was a wonderful guide! She taught the kids a lot about the mangrove ecosystem. She is very knowledgeable.
