Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour

Overview
Our tours are geared towards first time and new paddlers.  We go at your speed so you don't have to worry about going out and getting exhausted.  Grab a friend and come along for a unique adventure on the #1-rated Eco-Tour through the mangrove ecosystem. Choose your kayak - single or double - and glide in our shallow clear water over sponges, grass beds, and sandy patches. Looking down, you might see a small nurse shark, turtle, or stingray, or can observe dolphins and manatees. Above water, herons, pelicans, and ospreys settle on the mangroves and hunt for fish. While there are no guaranteed wildlife sightings, we always see something cool in this one-of-a-kind estuary ecosystem that starts right outside the back door of our shop.

Easy day for kayak adventure. Everyone had a fun time. Saw some manatees! Baby birds in nests close enough to see them.

Brittany did an amazing job of leading our group. Her knowledge of the area and marine life made her an invaluable resource that enhanced the experience. She was able to point out an eel, jellyfish, tarpons, lobsters, and nurse sharks. At the end of the tour, a special appearance was made by a beautiful manatee. This adventure was one of the highlights of our south Florida visit.

It was a beautiful paddle into the mangroves. We learned a lot from our guide about the ecosystem of the Keys. You could tell that he loved his job. He pointed out unique details that we might have overlooked. It was a little windy the day we went so no manatee sightings, but he pointed out the nestlings that had recently hatched of the green heron. It was a fun afternoon.
