I booked a Streetwise tour for me and my partner as we wanted to see some of the neighbourhoods of New York such as Greenwich, Chinatown, Little Italy, Chelsea and the Highline but knew we probably wouldn't venture from the main tourist sites if left to our own devices! Our tour was with Dan, who was really knowledgeable and who was happy to accommodate both where we would like to go and our lack of fitness! The great thing about being with a guide is that you find out all kinds of interesting things you never would have learned if just wandering around on your own and it is great to get a real New Yorkers view on the city as well. I would definitely recommend Streetwise to anyone looking for a walking tour of New York!

My two sons, ages 19 and 15, and I met with Andrew for a 6 hour tour on our first full day of visiting New York. He picked us up at our hotel and we spent the day touring several neighborhoods and areas of New York that we might have missed, or spent too much time trying to find ourselves. As we saw different parts of the city, we made note of places that we may have wanted to return to in the next days to spend more time there. Andrew gave us suggestions on what to do in those areas, and instructions on how to navigate our way back to that part of the city. He had interesting facts/information about NYC and made our walking tour fun. He was also flexible if we wanted to snack, go into a particular store, etc. or wanted to rest for a bit. Since this was our first time visiting NYC, I felt it was very helpful to get our bearings, so to speak, and highly recommend doing this tour the first day of your visit. Andrew was personable, polite, fun, and we felt totally comfortable with him.

My husband surprised me with a 3 day trip to New York for my 42nd Birthday and I had never been. As you can imagine, I wanted to do it all in 3 days and.....I did. I made a list of everything I wanted to see and then I found Streetwise Tours on a random website. All the reviews were pretty positive and a skeptical as I am I emailed them. Within a few hours, I got an email back AND a phone call. I talked to Dan (super likeable-down-to-earth kinda of a guy) and I gave him my list. He not only helped me break up my attractions by location so I can maximize my time but then told me what we would hit on a walking tour! Incredible! We booked a 3 hours tour and Dan met us at our hotel. We got to walk the coolest neighborhoods. He took us to the local hang outs, shared amazing history about New York and we got to see a side of New York that only natives get to experience. His knowledge about NYC is over the top! It was impressive.To make a long story short, we enjoyed our tour so much, we extended our 3 hours to 5 hours. So awesome!
