Patrick's walking tour was a high spot of our stay in NYC. We were very fortunate that it was free as part of our hotel stay, but we would happily have paid for the experience. He struck the right note of information around history, architecture, art and politics of the localities we explored.

I really enjoyed this small group walking tour with Dan. We met at the Pod & spent the morning walking, shopping, chatting and taking pictures. Dan is confident and knowledgeable; he gets just the right balance of "explore on your own" and "let's move on" with plenty of time for Q&A. We learned interesting bits about immigration, history, architecture, graffitti and an insider opinion of restaurants and night spots. I LOVE the Essex St Market & can't wait to show friends "this great place I've discovered".....before it gets developed away! Thanks, Dan.

I stayed at the Pod 51 Hotel and they offered daily tours with Streetwise. I took one the first morning and it was very good, they show you the real New York. Everybody knows that you need to visit the Central Park, the Empire State, 5th avenue, statue of Liberty, but you'll never know the real New York that way, those are just attractions. With streetwise we went walking through the streets, appreciating the details thanks to the guide explanations, thinking about the changes that the city went and is going through, recognizing filming locations, discovering unknown museums and getting good recommendations on where to eat. I ended up getting a tour every day while I stayed there.
