The low rating is just to point out certain points which somewhat spoiled our experience which remains exceptional, it is absolutely necessary to do this Manta outing, unforgettable.
with a limited level of English, we went through Kona adventure where we could communicate with Laure who speaks French (following the very good smartripper blog)
Before booking I contacted the company to hope to have Laure as a guide, we were told that depending on her availability, it would be possible.......more news with our online reservation.
So, it's complicated to say with just one point of view, but we found ourselves on a spot full of other boats for identical outings, we were stuck together.
The price is really not the lowest (250/pers), the compensation must come from elsewhere....
The pluses are that there were only 8 of us on the boat, the guides were very kind and the equipment loaned was of good quality.
So, my negative sides:
We understood part of the explanations during the journey, ultimately anecdotal.
the rest is on the written promises
in the resa email:
While on board our boat, we will provide snacks, fresh fruits, beverages, and plenty of Aloha. When out of the water, we will have a warm shower waiting for you, hot coco or tea and island made chocolates while riding back to harbor for you and your family on our boat.
we were entitled to a bottle of water (no fruit, snacks, showers, tea)
the most annoying thing is that we had no memory of this moment, on the prospectus there is:
Our experienced guides will be in the water with you and your family at all times to advise you, keep you safe and take lots of photos in and out of the water that we can email to you.
I know that with the masks/suit, recognition is hard but it could have been a real memory, seeing us from below clinging to the board would have been great.
but no photos were taken.
When I asked by email the next day if photos were available, Laure finally sent us an email with 3 photos of rays from their database simply stating: here are the photos of your tour.
This is only off topic /see the stripes/ but remains a disappointment for a high-end tour op.
and finally, they lost a pair of shoes (beach shoes but hey)
Our boat broke down on the way back/returned with another (it's not a problem) but our shoes remained in it.
arrived at the port, they offered to take our boat neighbors back to their hotel.
I don't see why they couldn't have brought them back to our apartment.
As a result, I had to come back to the marina twice. The first, I was able to get mine back. Not finding the other pair, I came back a second time; well not lost, so we would have to call that one to find out. that he buys you shoes and.....wasted enough time in Hawaii.
I would 100% do this outing again if I could but not with Kona adventure.
