Head out in Kona, one of the best places in the world to see mantas, to see the sunset over the water before jumping in to enjoy swimming with manta rays in their underwater nighttime realm. "Manta safari" guides escort you around the site with a mobile light show that attracts these gentle and fascinating creatures. Jan 1- March 31 departure time is 5:30PM and 8:30pm April 1- September 31 departure time is 6PM and 9pm, October 1- December 31 departure time is 5PM and 8pm. You will be placed where there is availability. Please call 24 hours prior to confirm departure time.

This was an awesome experience. I was initially concerned that I would be miserable because too cold. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t very cold. The captain and crew were great. I would highly recommend.

This experience was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done. The mantas were beautiful, playful, and absolutely magical. Rory, Maddie, Patrick & Cher were the best crew. They were knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and so helpful to everyone. I will do this again and again on EVERY trip to the Big Island. Just go!

My husband, kids, 67-year-old mom, and I went on the nighttime manta ray tour. The crew was amazing! They were so accommodating to those needing extra help. We saw about 15 manta rays right from the beginning. It was a VERY cool experience. They say to bring warm clothes, but don't worry about it if you don't want to pack that around. Most people just rode back in their wet bathing suits. It really wasn't cold. You might want to bring a towel, though. They give adults a wetsuit jacket and kids get a full-length wetsuit. They give you a pool noodle to swim about 50 feet over to the light boards you hang on to. Snacks and a cooler full of drinks are available. You don't have to spend the entire time out in the water. The crew will help you swim back to the boat whenever you want. I watched them sanitize the snorkels on the ride back to the bay. Overall, it was a REALLY great experience and I would highly recommend it!
