What To Expect

Playa Manuel Antonio

This tropical dry forest is located on a peninsula, surrounded by crystal clear Pacific water and white sand beaches. The main attractions of this park are its two white sand beaches: Espadilla Sur and Manuel Antonio. There are 109 mammal species such as 3 different species of monkeys, agouti, three-toed sloths, two-toed sloths and over 180 species of birds. Midway through the day, you will enjoy lunch which is included in the pricing. If you have any dietary needs you must advise the information at the time of booking. Let a professional, experienced and bilingual nature guide teach you about the resident fauna and the distinctive plant life of this beautiful park in the extensive trail system which takes you through a variety of ecosystems.

Arrived in Jaco Beach Costa Rica and set up a tour of Carrera National Park through Tukan Tours. Walter was our tour guide and we had an amazing time and got once in a lifetime photographs. Walter not only knows the area but he found wildlife that we would have never even seen if he didn't point them out to us. We watched the animals, photographed them and Walter shared his wealth of knowledge about the animals, plants and the surrounding area. We ended up booking another tour through them during our stay. Tukan Tours and our guide Walter was professional, knowledgable and if you are in Costa Rica I would recommend calling them to show you the area.

We had Walter as our tour guide and he went out of his way to make sure we had a good time at Manuel Antonio National Park. Walter speaks perfect english so there was no language barriers to overcome, which was nice when he was pointing out small animals through his scope in the rainforest. Even though Manuel Antonio park is crowded he was always stepping to the side of the groups and pointing out additional wildlife or vegetation that other tour guides were brushing over. He truly has a passion for his job and wants to make sure that everyone on his tour has a good time. While he and his friends may not have the largest of the best publicized tour company it is well worth your time and money to look them up because the personal service you will receive is top notch!

The hotel where we were staying did not have the minimum number of people required to organize a tour; however, Walter with Tukan Tours arranged transportation for just the two of us at no extra charge! Walter took my husband and me to Manuel Antonio National Park, and the tour was fantastic!! A guided tour through the park was so much more enjoyable because he was able to show us so many different plants and animals that we wouldn't have seen on our own. The pace of the tour was perfect. Walter was an incredible guide - very knowledgeable, with perfect English (along with a few other languages too)!! We really enjoyed our time with this company and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
