What To Expect

Island Queen Ferry

Once in Falmouth, you'll be dropped off at the Island Queen Dock where you'll board the passenger ferry. Your ferry ticket is included so you won't have to wait in line at the dock. Relax on a short 35-minute mini-cruise as you sail across the sparkling waters off the coast of Massachusetts.

Oak Bluffs Town Beach

You will arrive at the island of Martha's Vineyard around 9:30am. You will then have approximately six hours to explore Martha's Vineyard on your own. Your bus driver will be happy to provide you with more information and maps of the area should you wish to book additional activities.

Gay Head Light (Aquinnah Light)

Upgrade to a 3-hour narrated island tour to get an initial overview of the island. On the tour you will have a 15-20-minute stop at the Gay Head cliffs in scenic Aquinnah, where the first lighthouse was built.

Next, you'll pass through the beautiful historic village of Edgartown. Along the way, enjoy the commentary from your professional tour guides as they share their knowledge of the island's history and present-day events. You will then have approximately 2.5 hours to explore Martha’s Vineyard on your own.

Martha's Vineyard Camp meeting Association (MVCMA)

Upon completion of your day on the Island, you will board the ferry which departs at 3:45pm for a relaxing sail back to Falmouth, where the shuttle will be waiting to complete the final leg of your unforgettable day trip experience. A light snack and water will be provided on your trip back to Boston.

The Steamship Authority

Please note: For departures from April 2-May 26 and October 11-October 30, ferry service will be provided by The Steamship Authority. For departure from May 27-October 10, ferry service will be provided by Island Queen Ferry. Ferry schedules and locations may vary slightly. Times will be advised during reconfirmation.

Everything about the trip was fantastic. The tour with Tom was very insightful and interesting. Kevin was very insightful and courteous friendly and kind. Would Would recommend this tour to everyone. Looking to do it again.

The most memorable part of my trip to Martha's was the tour that we took. Just wished that the two stops on the tour were a bit longer (especially the second one). Tom, the toyr guide, was very captivating with his knowledge of the island

Tom and Luchia were actually the bright part of the trip. Martha’s Vineyard was okay overall. There was too much sitting and not enough walking for my tastes.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am happy that you enjoyed your time with Tom and Lucia. I am a bit confused about your assessment. I am not sure if you mean sitting on the bus ride to and from the ferry which is necessary. Or on the ferry, which is necessary. Or on the 3 hour narrated bus tour, which is necessary while on the vehicle. Martha's Vineyard is a very large island and it takes some time to drive around it. Our tour stops in Edgartown for 50 minutes and the Gay Head Cliffs for 15 where you can walk if you choose. After our tour is over you have approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes of free time that you can use to walk as much as you want. It seems to me that there is plenty of time to walk if you choose to do so. Thank you again for your review, though I don't quite understand it and wish I did. Sincerely, Stephen M.
