I don't give reviews but since I've now gotten 3 emails requesting one... here it goes. The tour of Martha's Vineyard I think would have been great if I had one of these other tour guides that sound so AWESOME! I'm pretty sure my tour guide was Tom. That was the name on the sign above the bus door. He never introduced himself so I could be wrong on his name. I know more about Tom's life than I do Martha's Vineyard. Tom shared numerous times how poor he was and that he had 3 jobs just to live on the island and would really appreciate tips at the end. We hadn't even started the tour yet. But I can tell you all about Tom. His wife is a phlebotomist at the hospital. However, his wife's family owns an oyster or scallop farm and lives next door to a house that Bill Clinton rented out every time he was in town for 8 years and the Clinton's never paid rent. Tom and his family were invited to the White House to be vetted for security reasons. While there his kids were wearing basketball jersey's because they went to a professional basketball game and were signed by the then president . He got a cheeseburger with Bill Clinton on the beach one time and his wife danced with Bill Clinton at a party art Ted Danson's house but Tom can't afford to live here. He is also very upset that when he was 16 years old and had long hair he and his friends were extras in the movie Jaws and he's never been paid a penny for that, which makes him very upset. He pointed out where Obama lives on Prospect drive for 4 years and that they have no idea just how the Chef died (we all know how the chef died.. give me a break) lol & how much the Obama girls hated being on the island. He showed us where Kamala Harris and Michelle Obama just had a fundraiser and raised a bunch of money for the island to buy back property so no one could build on it. He actually turned off on a dirt road to show us where the news people set up when the Obama's came to town.! That was exciting!!! He also pointed out where John Belushi's house was all boarded up after he overdosed on drugs. We learned that the 2 Kennedys deaths were exactly 30 years apart to the day on either side of the Island. Oh and Michelle Obama really liked the local library. Tom also sells scallops on Wed, Thurs and Fridays so he can afford to live on the island he also raises bees. I couldn't tell you anything about Martha's Vineyard, the history or anything for that matter. Oh wait.. he did mention something about Native Americans. This was my first time to the East coast and to Martha's Vineyard. I came because my Mom grew up going to Martha's Vineyard. She passed away a few years ago and I just wanted to learn about the island she talked about my entire childhood. I wanted to learn the history and to see the white houses with black shutters & the light houses that she loved so much. I did see the houses, one light house and I did have clam chowder for the first time. So, the trip wasn't a complete bust. I didn't think I had signed up for a political bus tour though. It was disappointing to say the least. I would just like to tell Tom... it's not all about him and asking for tips prior to starting the tour and then making the tour all about you and your family and your obsession with former presidents and famous people was exhausting. I honestly wouldn't recommend this tour with Tom to anyone. I am sad that he has to have 3 jobs and his wife 1 job to live on Martha's Vineyard and I probably wouldn't have given him a tip if I didn't feel that it was expected.

Eileen was a friendly safe driver, informative, entertaining and would definitely recommend her to anyone! The trip to Martha’s was a great time even though we didn’t take the tour with the group. We made our own trip out of it by renting a moped and went to eat at Biscuits, see Island Alpacas and lastly, Aquinnah Cliffs which was breathtaking. Worth every 40 minutes ride to there and back. I’d recommend this exact trip for anyone.
