What To Expect

Island Queen Ferry

Once in Falmouth, you'll be dropped off at the Island Queen Dock where you'll board the passenger ferry. Your ferry ticket is included so you won't have to wait in line at the dock. Relax on a short 35-minute mini-cruise as you sail across the sparkling waters off the coast of Massachusetts.

Oak Bluffs Town Beach

You will arrive at the island of Martha's Vineyard around 9:30am. You will then have approximately six hours to explore Martha's Vineyard on your own. Your bus driver will be happy to provide you with more information and maps of the area should you wish to book additional activities.

Gay Head Light (Aquinnah Light)

Upgrade to a 3-hour narrated island tour to get an initial overview of the island. On the tour you will have a 15-20-minute stop at the Gay Head cliffs in scenic Aquinnah, where the first lighthouse was built.

Next, you'll pass through the beautiful historic village of Edgartown. Along the way, enjoy the commentary from your professional tour guides as they share their knowledge of the island's history and present-day events. You will then have approximately 2.5 hours to explore Martha’s Vineyard on your own.

Martha's Vineyard Camp meeting Association (MVCMA)

Upon completion of your day on the Island, you will board the ferry which departs at 3:45pm for a relaxing sail back to Falmouth, where the shuttle will be waiting to complete the final leg of your unforgettable day trip experience. A light snack and water will be provided on your trip back to Boston.

The Steamship Authority

Please note: For departures from April 2-May 26 and October 11-October 30, ferry service will be provided by The Steamship Authority. For departure from May 27-October 10, ferry service will be provided by Island Queen Ferry. Ferry schedules and locations may vary slightly. Times will be advised during reconfirmation.

The tour itself could have been great: good itinerary & good knowledge by both tour guides (bus & sightseeing tour on the island). I rated less for this tour because Covid-rules in my opinion were ignored. Almost nobody was wearing masks at all or properly in both busses. This did not feel right to me at the time being and I think it was also not complying with Massachusett's regulations. Could not fully enjoy my day. Outside of Covid probably a great tour.

Hello and thank you for the review even though I strongly disagree with your evaluation. Safety is always our top priority here at New England Trips. At the commencement of every trip before departure our guides make it a point to state that MA Guidelines require that masks be worn while on our vehicles. We even take it a step further by carrying extra masks on board for guests that do not have them. You stated that guests were not wearing masks properly. What you need to remember is that that once our driver begins his journey his focus is on the road and unlike an airplane we do not have stewardesses manning the aisles.
