Overview

All riders must be 36 inches or taller to participate/ride submarine.

Dive 100 feet below the surface and experience Maui’s marine treasures off beautiful Lahaina with Atlantis Submarines Maui. A special added bonus of this tour experience is seeing the spectacular West Maui Mountains while riding our shuttle boat to the Maui dive site.

Stingray, yellow tang, eel, parrotfish, bluefin trevally, and an array of other marine species are seen regularly at the dive site. See firsthand how the Carthaginian, a sunken 19th century whaling brig, has combined with Mother Nature to create a fascinating artificial reef to attract and support marine life of all sizes, shapes and colors.

Passengers must be capable of ascending and descending a near vertical ladder on their own to board the submarine
Total tour time is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Actual underwater tour time is 45 minutes
Children must be 36 inches or taller to ride the submarine
Infants are not permitted on the submarine.

Nice thing to do for an afternoon @ The Wharf. Took the 100p which was discounted $. You do have to take a boat ride out to the sub, about 20 mins before you board. If prone to seasickness, suggest eating afterwards. Got real value, saw 2 pods of spinner dolphins following us to the sub. And 2 whale sightings! Underwater was awesome, chased 2 spotted rays. Our guide was great and funny (but that’s my humor). Worth the trip.

The sub ride was terrific! Anchors, a sunken ship and many colorful fish. Wonderful crew! Warm and helpful. But here is the greatest thing about our day. We saw humpback whales on the way out. Not a few. Many!!! The skipper saw a pod of whales breaching, tail slaps and fluke slaps. She stopped the boat for awhile and we saw a whale mother and her calf! It was clear that the crew was as enthused as we were. Lovely people! Thanks!

The boat rides were nice, the sub was cool, and the views were awesome. But the unhappy toddler seated behind me on the submarine, melting down into a crying, shouting, frustration/boredom-fed tantrum, killed the joy of the whole thing. Folks: Have the courtesy to NOT bring your toddlers and babies on hour-long trips in cramped spaces, with no way to remove them from the situation if they go to pieces. Everyone else's experience in that tiny sub was (if not ruined) then severely lowered from the toddler's angry, crying tantrum for the *entire trip underwater*. Atlantis Submarines Maui: Impose a lower age limit for the experience. 5-years-old, at the youngest. It is not appropriate to ask babies and children too young to sit still for long periods, to stay quiet in a cramped enclosed environment, and subject everyone else to their misery. We get enough of that on the plane rides to-and-from Hawaii. Also, they're too young to understand or enjoy the ride. For them it's just an hour of being restrained and unhappy. Also, put less "comedy" in your narration. This wasn't opening night at "The IImprov", we didn't have cocktails in our hands, and the humor wasn't funny, just distracting. Fewer jokes, more scientific/historical information.
