Overview

All riders must be 36 inches or taller to participate/ride submarine.

Dive 100 feet below the surface and experience Maui’s marine treasures off beautiful Lahaina with Atlantis Submarines Maui. A special added bonus of this tour experience is seeing the spectacular West Maui Mountains while riding our shuttle boat to the Maui dive site.

Stingray, yellow tang, eel, parrotfish, bluefin trevally, and an array of other marine species are seen regularly at the dive site. See firsthand how the Carthaginian, a sunken 19th century whaling brig, has combined with Mother Nature to create a fascinating artificial reef to attract and support marine life of all sizes, shapes and colors.

Total tour time is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Actual underwater tour time is 45 minutes

Infants are not permitted on the submarine.

My husband's a diver but I can't dive, so it was awesome for me to get to experience some of what he sees down there via sub. Seeing the Carthaginian was really cool, and we got to see a few white tipped reef sharks hanging out nearby, which was awesome. Our guide, Paul, was fun and enthusiastic. Definitely a neat way to experience the underwater world for those of us who aren't divers.

Really can't decide whether we would recommend this submarine ride or not. Having never been in a submarine, that was interesting. Having never been 130' underwater, that was interesting too. However, the actual number and types of fish were very underwhelming and they were difficult to see. The most interesting thing we saw were a few divers who were exploring the sunken ship while we were there. The tour leader had a very loud voice and he definitely was talking all the time. It was somewhat uncomfortable to have to bend over from our seats to look out into the water. The main reason we might not recommend this tour is that it was, in our opinion, overpriced for what we saw and experienced.

This submarine ride was literally a visit to another world. The waters around Hawaii were crystal clear and the view out the individual portals was worth every cent we paid. The crew was very helpful and kept us informed as to where to look and what was out there. We actually saw a large eel sticking its head out of the coral and a rather large shark just resting on the ocean bottom among many other things. It also seemed to be a stress free experience for everyone in the sub.
