Overview

All riders must be 36 inches or taller to participate/ride submarine.

Dive 100 feet below the surface and experience Maui’s marine treasures off beautiful Lahaina with Atlantis Submarines Maui. A special added bonus of this tour experience is seeing the spectacular West Maui Mountains while riding our shuttle boat to the Maui dive site.

Stingray, yellow tang, eel, parrotfish, bluefin trevally, and an array of other marine species are seen regularly at the dive site. See firsthand how the Carthaginian, a sunken 19th century whaling brig, has combined with Mother Nature to create a fascinating artificial reef to attract and support marine life of all sizes, shapes and colors.

Total tour time is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Actual underwater tour time is 45 minutes

Infants are not permitted on the submarine.

The tour was awesome. Our group was smaller so we got lots of time to see all the fish. We saw pretty much everything from a small shark, sunken ship to the corals. The guides were great, the picture they took at the beginning was great and we bought it. The dive was fun. Everything was on time. There was enough time on the sub and a nice little prep ride out to the sub.

What an exciting adventure to sign up for. We had a great time doing this activity and felt very comfortable and safe. A wonderful crew with a lot of knowledge to share. Got to see a white-tipped shark, spotted manta rays and lots of beautiful colored fish in their natural habitat. Great for children and adults alike.

We were so, so psyched for this, and it was even BETTER than we anticipated. The crew really understands why people (people like me, anyway) signed on for this--they made it fun for the nervous kiddos, they made it fascinating for nature/science lovers, and they played a wav file of a klaxon horn before diving for the movie buff who just thinks going in a submarine is awesome. :-). Loved seeing the sea live and the shipwreck along the way, but the main thing is I rode in an actual SUBMARINE. Everybody gets a seat with a porthole, so you get to see everything. However, you have to be realistic: the lighting at depth is dim, and thus it's similar to what you see at the aquarium but not so well lit, and thus the colors disappear and everything is blue. If your goal is to see a yellow tang looking bright yellow, go snorkeling. If your goal is to give yourself and your kids a truly unique experience, and nobody is claustrophobic, do this!!!
