Overview

All riders must be 36 inches or taller to participate/ride submarine.

Dive 100 feet below the surface and experience Maui’s marine treasures off beautiful Lahaina with Atlantis Submarines Maui. A special added bonus of this tour experience is seeing the spectacular West Maui Mountains while riding our shuttle boat to the Maui dive site.

Stingray, yellow tang, eel, parrotfish, bluefin trevally, and an array of other marine species are seen regularly at the dive site. See firsthand how the Carthaginian, a sunken 19th century whaling brig, has combined with Mother Nature to create a fascinating artificial reef to attract and support marine life of all sizes, shapes and colors.

A fun underwater sightseeing experience in Maui. It's a short boat ride from Lahaina pier to the submarine site where you watch the prior tour group surface for underwater. One group shuffles off the sub to the water shuttle while the other shuffles on. Once aboard and seated, the sub gets underway pretty quick. It descends to about 100 feet, eventually hitting a max depth of 125 feet during the course of the 40 min-ish ride. On our tour we saw some small sharks, a variety of fish and the sunken boat and anchor. The driver does a good job of making sure both the port and starboard sides of the sub get to see everything. Our trip was mostly full, but not completely. We didn't feel too packed in. As the tour guide explains, the colors underwater at this depth are far more more muted than one would expect. Everything looks like its in a bluish-green monotone. No vibrant colors. We got some good pictures, but nothing spectacular. There's not a ton to see down there so don't go in with undue expectations. Nonetheless it's a unique experience and certainly worth the trip. The guides were friendly and helpful.
