Overview

The Haleakala Day Journey has been one of the most popular bike tours offered at Mountain Riders for over 30 years. The tour begins at the entrance of Haleakala National Park and ends 26 miles later where the bike ride concludes in Paia Town, on the North Shore of the island! Our tours are conducted by our experienced guides, who will point out historic sites along the journey and offer unforgettable photo ops for your group.

Check-in - 7:30am at the Mountain Riders office location
Return - 11:30-12:00pm back to the Mountain Riders office location (times will vary depending upon the season).

We start our tour at the entrance to Haleakala National Park

See the slopes of Haleakala volcano as you bike from outside the park at 6500 feet to the beach in Paia

If I could give this excursion of zero I would. Not accurate on your descriptions on the website are not In accurate representation of the actual ride. We picked this ride because it was supposed to go down to Paia and the beach. They do not advertise on their website that they no longer go to the volcano at the national park. We found that out after we already paid for the trip. We did not feel very comfortable on the bikes and they did not appear to be in good working condition. Avoid this excursion and save your money.

Aloha. This person booked his tour with a third party booking company website not on ours. We do have tours that go into Haleakala National Park which could have been booked by this person. As you can see on the description headline of the tour he booked it says 6500 feet not 10,000 which is the elevation of the summit in the National Park. Also this particular tour did end in Paia at sea level. Our bikes are checked every day and are all in great working condition. It can be seen on the other reviews an accurate portrayal of the tours.
