So many whales!!! I lost count. And better yet, we saw different types of behavior (baby whales breaching, male "competition" groups). Our guides, Chase and Katie, clearly love whales and these tours, and know what they're doing, so it was such a pleasure to be with them. If you are going in the winter, when there is "weather", I advise taking the first boat out - the waves get choppier as the day goes on. I went with my parents who are in their 70s and they were fine. I expressed some concern about the weather before we left, and Chase and Katie were very nice and reassuring. A couple tips - arrive 30 minutes before the boat departs (my confirmation email didn't mention this, but it is on the website); you will take your shoes off on the boat; we went at 7 am in February, and you definitely need a jacket or sweater; there will be some splashing but it doesn't last long.

When we were last in Maui in December of 2017, my husband felt sick and wasn't able to "see the whales". We came back mainly for him to do this (among other reasons). This event is fabulous! Fun raft ride across the water, boat that's not crowded, and lots of "whale watching". Other reviewers are correct - great company and well-done excursion.

Our guys made the trip so much fun, but the stars were the whales. When we left the dock, the captain said it's not if we'll see whales but how many. We saw them breaching & flipping. There were spouts all over our path. We learned about why the whales come other fun facts. A wonderful trip!
