Mauna Kea Summit

One of the best places to see the sunset and stargazing and it's also the highest mountain on earth. Comfortable 4X4 passenger van as transportation.Jackets and gloves provided to keep you warm. Experienced tour guide to talk about our history and show you our amazing night with a laser pointer. Get close to the stars with our professional Celestron telescope and get a nice photo with our DSLR camera.

Rich was a great guide. He shared a lot of information about local Hawaiian traditions. He even sang a Hawaiian song to welcome us on Mauna Kea and to show respect. The view was fabulous and unique! We also learned a lot about the stars. The whole trip was an amazing experience we will never forget!!

This was the highlight of our trip! We didn't know how quickly this type of excursion books up and are so thankful to Hawaii Island Holidays for making space for the two of us last minute. They were really easy to work with and timely in their responses via text so we were able to drive to meet up with the tour group at the Mauna Kea Visitor Summit. Rydge was our driver and tour guide, and we deeply appreciated him sharing his area expertise as well as his cultural heritage and traditions. He's also an excellent photographer and really just provided a great experience for us. For the stargazing portion Derek was fantastic pointing out all the constellations and sharing his knowledge of the night sky. Loved our astro photos as well! Highly recommend this tour and especially Hawaii Island Holidays to everyone!

This was a great excursion! The guides are helpful friendly and knowledgeable. In my opinion this is the only way to go to the top. I drive dirt roads in Colorado mountains and this road is technically difficult even for me. I had a great time up at the top and then down at the bottom star gazing. They also gave a balanced view of the controversy surrounding the 30 m telescope. Appreciate a fair and balanced view so rare in our world today. The sun set from the top is life changing
