Overview

Get the complete Memphis experience on this all-inclusive city tour. It’s a part history tour, part attraction hopping, part food tour that will introduce you to everything that makes Memphis special. You’ll visit World Famous Beale Street (the Home of the Blues); the Lorraine Motel, to see the balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated; the Rock 'n' Soul Museum or Edge Motor Museum (if option selected); Lansky Brothers Clothing Store, clothier to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and B.B. King (and still one of the most stylish places to shop!); and get a barbecue tasting at one of the best barbecue joints in the city!

Along the way, we'll show you our favorite Memphis sights, including the Mississippi River, Victorian Village, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, old Cotton Row, and Court Square, the lovely and historic heart of 19th century Memphis.

Within a few blocks there are four different parking garages, and several open-air parking lots. The closest garage to our location (just two blocks away) is at 149 Peabody Place between Second Street and BB King Blvd., next to the Hampton Inn. You can try your luck with on-street metered parking, too, on Second Street just south of Beale; on Beale between Front and Second; or along Peabody Place from Front to Fourth Street.

This was a great and informative tour. I would recommend this tour to get the lay of the land and which sites to further investigate on your own. Our tour guide gave a very informative talk at the Lorraine Hotel about the events of the assignation of Dr. Martin Luther King which I found very moving. The only information I would have liked to have from the guide would had been the hours of the museums that were pointed out on the tour. We went back the following day to the Civil Rights museum only to find it was closed that day of the week. The barbecue place on the tour had excellent food

I did the discovery tour and it was really great! The tour included a Memphis bbq tasting at Central BBQ, Rock n Soul museum tickets and a stop at the Peabody hotel. It was a great way to sight see and learn a little more about Memphis. The tour guide was entertaining as well. I highly recommend this tour!!

Michael was our guide and did a very thorough job of explaining Memphis and its history. There were only 13 of us on the tour and that made it more of a personal experience. The Central BBQ stop filled us up with delicious food and a sampling of 4 sauces. I thought the tour was going to be three hours and then however long you wanted to take to go through the Rock and Soul Museum.It was only two hours long and then the stop at Rock and Soul.
