Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. What To Expect

Mendenhall Glacier

Guests will spend 60-90 minutes hiking around the rocky moraine and exploring near the Mendenhall Glacier.

Stunning tour and an up close way to experience the changes happening due to climate change. Guides Kevin and Paul both studied geology in college and gave a knowledgeable commentary on the affects of a warming climate on glaciers.

Mike and Kevin were the absolute best guides. We had such a good time, despite the weather, canoeing and hiking. I felt safe with them and confident in case of a “worst case” scenario. 5/5 would recommend and absolutely do again. If you’re visiting on a cruise, do yourself a favor and book directly thru the company.
