Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour

Overview
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE hiking on a glacier.

Honestly, I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around this amazing experience! We had a great canoe ride, a little hike and then finally, we were able to get onto the glacier! We drank wafer straight from the glacier, got to see an amazing ice hole, and experienced some amazing memories. Casey and Andrew did a great job of keeping us properly outfitted and informed of what to expect and what to do. A few people in our group were a little more adventurous and they allowed us to explore a little more (with one of the guides of course). This was a great adventure and I'm so glad we made it work in our schedules to do this with you! Thank you and thank you Casey and Andrew, our amazing guides!

With just a little effort, it is truly amazing what memories nature can provide for us. Walking on a glacier is something few people will ever experience and we are so happy to be apart of that memory. Thank you.

Our family of 5 loved this tour! We were fortunate to have great weather, which is not great for the planet. Our tour guide, Abby, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She made the four hours go by quickly The paddling is a little bit of extra work, but it felt great. The approach from Mendenhall Lake allowed us to get unique and close views of the glacier and Nugget Falls. Definitely worth it!

Steve, we believe this review was left about our company in error. We do not utilize Kayaks nor have ever employed an Andre.
