Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children 13 to 17 must have a signed parental consent form to participate without a parent or guardian.
Client must be able to use upper body strength to paddle kayak approx. 2 hrs
Guests taller than 6' 3" will not be able to steer with foot pedals and will have to steer with the oar instead. You may still participate, it is just an item to take into consideration when choosing the tour.
Minimum weight: 40lbs
Maximum weight dependent on waist size to fit into kayak cockpit 16.5" X 10". Approximately 275lbs
Gloves and an extra pair of socks are recommended.
Tour is weather dependent.

Booked a tour at premium price and they cancelled on us 2 days before because they didn’t get enough guests to make it worth it for them to operate. Beware if you book with them, it’s not a guaranteed reservation.

Helpful and knowledgeable guides who made sure everyone had a fun and safe time. The lake was serene, despite the rain. The glacier looked beautiful from the water. We would definitely book this activity again if Juneau is ever on our radar again.

This was part of a long planned and anticipated trip (date:9-3-19). My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed Julia and Brian, our guides. They were professional, prepared, and kind as the dealt with us as first time kayakers. They filled us with confidence while explaining everything, and never made us feel inferior to the task. The trip out and back was all that we had anticipated...with a great view of the Mendenhall Glacier. The Salmon was the best of the whole trip. Alaska Travel Adventures was a well prepared and equipped outfitter for this trip, with good equipment all around. While challenging physically, but not overwhelming...truly worth the effort and cost.
