My bestie and I went on the food tour during our birthday girls trip and it was the highlight of the trip. Not only did we learn of the best places to eat in Midtown but we learned some history of the surrounding areas and even places to go for the other days we were visiting! John is a super nice guy and great tour guide. Do this tour early in your visit so you can go back to all the wonderful restaurants for seconds (thirds?)!!! Thanks John for everything! I'd do the tour again and again.

A. - You and C. are more than welcome! You two were only in my neighborhood for a long weekend, celebrating birthdays, and trying to figure out how to see and do everything! Ah, you young folks! Tires me out just thinking of all the things you guys crammed into each day! Hey! TA readers! A. has some great advice! When possible, always take a Food Tour the first day you're in town. A great way to try out some dining spots and then maybe go back. A couple of hours with a "local" that is sure to have other suggestions. Meet some other travelers who may have just been where you were planning to go tomorrow. (Did I mention that Food Tours are great fun!) Thank you, A. for taking a few moments to write a sweet review! My best to you both!

My husband and I did the food tour with John. We really enjoyed John's knowledge of Midtown. You can tell he is really passionate about midtown, and that made the tour that much better. John is so personable, he makes you feel like old friends reuniting. The food selection, oh my gosh!!!! It was absolutely delicious. From the great burger with the donut bun to the desserts. I have had shrimp and grits before but non-compared to Einstein's. I am a southern girl (so I know a thing about fried chicken and greens) and I had the best fried chicken and greens in my life at Max wine and dive. Jalapeno battered chicken and champagne is the best combination ever...

P. - Thanks for the wonderful review! I continue to be amazed at the number of folks on my Food Tour who have never, ever been on a Food Tour! Yikes! And then you picked me! Oh, the pressure! Well...not exactly! It's gets easier and easier for me as we go from one great "taste and sip" to the next. There is a reason that that burger is the first stop. I know that both you and your husband were saying, "Wow! What's next?!" And then we're on for an afternoon food adventure! When you all come back to Atlanta for some December holiday shopping (Hint! Hint!) let's do this again. We'll all go "Discover Buckhead!" Different food! Same fun! My best to you both!

Living 30 minutes outside of Atlanta, we seldom come into town unless it would be to a ballgame. Honestly, in 28 years of Marietta living, I didn't really know what defined Midtown and had eaten at few restaurants in the area. That will not be the case moving forward. It was our first food tour in any city and we decided to do it for our 45th wedding anniversary. Yes, we did eat well and at new-to-us restaurants, but the key to a food tour as far as we could tell depended upon the tour guide. John put the tour over the top. Intensely proud of his Midtown and extremely knowledgeable about the entirety of Midtown, we came away with a total understanding of the area's history, architecture and cuisine. And, if you like to hear stories that are interesting, John is your man. He gets it! As a result, we got it. It is a walking tour of about 2 miles total but the pace is not strenuous with many stops for anecdotes about the area. The cost is justified by the 4+ hours spent on tour and the amount of food offered. Don't eat a late breakfast or schedule an early dinner. John loves doing what he does and it shows. We will return to Peachtree Street often and I would highly recommend this tour to first-timers, locals and/or out-of-towners. Would also be great as a corporate outing. Can you tell, we had a great anniversary?

Wow, Dave! That's a great review! And, Yes!...Yours was a great anniversary celebration! I know I have said this before but I will always remember you and sweet Ms. S. always about 10 feet behind the Tour group, holding hands, just strolling! Cute, cute couple! Looked like you were on your honeymoon! You said that you were not going to be strangers to my neighborhood so I will keep an eye out for you...holding hands...strolling down Peachtree Street. I might even be good for another anniversary toast! Just give me a holler! The best to you both!
