My teenage daughter found John's tour while looking for things for us to do on a father-daughter trip to explore Atlanta. Both of us are so glad that she did! John is an excellent tour guide. He is a resident of mid-town, giving the tour a very good connection to the dynamic of the area - what's going on where, what's hot and what's not. This gives such a great back-story to the food-tour - it's definitely way more interesting than walking from restaurant to restaurant and you almost feel like a local by the time you're done. The choices of restaurant and food recommendations were all excellent. We covered a range of cuisine, from unexpected, to new twists on southern fare. I highly recommend trusting John with the choices and letting him surprise you. He is very careful about asking about personal tastes and allergies - so there should be no issues. John was very communicative both before the tour to make sure everything ran smoothly with our plans - and also to say thanks afterwards. All of this led to a great experience. Highly recommended! Thanks John!

Wow! Highlight of your trip! That is high praise, indeed, as you and your daughter took in almost every Atlanta highlight in less than 48 hours!! Prior to your visit I sent a note regarding what I thought a 16 year old might enjoy but she was way ahead of me. Good work, Ms. H.!! Thanks, Patrick, for the detailed comments on your experience.... which included "from unexpected, to new twists"...a great bit of writing without giving away any of my "surprises". I think of all the Food Tours that I have enjoyed around the world and I love to start out on the foodie adventure without knowing what's ahead. Gotta love a little mystery!! I see more Father/Daughter weekends of fun. I'm sure Ms. H. is already thinking of the possibilities. Maybe even another Food Tour, wherever it is you end up. Always a great idea as there are some terrific ones out there! My best to you both! John

We are locals that took the tour and learned from John about some restaurants off the beaten path we hadn’t heard of, as well as learned a lot more about our city! Other reviewers nailed it - John is an excellent ambassador for Midtown and really makes the tour informative, delicious and fun! Thank you John for a lovely tour and we will definitely be telling our local friends to check it out!

Hi Fran! I love my Midtown, my little piece of restaurant heaven, and it becomes obvious quickly why my sweet Jeri and I wouldn't live anywhere else! Whether you're a tourist and first time in Atlanta...or a local looking for insider restaurant tips...my foodie adventure makes a lot of sense. Let's go try 5 restaurants, sample plenty of tastes and sips, hear some stories...and keep you from spending good money on bad food. Plus I send my guests home with food...even more food...for later! Lots of reasons to return to my neighborhood! Thank you, Fran, for sharing with other TA readers! My best always! John

We found Atlanta as well as the host of our food tour to be: Affable, Bodacious & Contemporary. No matter where we ventured to, the people were friendly, warm and so generous of spirit. The food portions were excellent and varied to appeal to any one's discerning palette. What a great city! What a great host! And what a great memory! Will definitely be back to explore more of this great city and its many offerings per John :)

Thanks, Ms. S. for the lovely review! I remember you and I chatting about the goal of every Food Tour owner/guide is to provide that fabulous travel memory. For you to share "...what a great memory", I am most grateful. I love to show off my Atlanta Midtown neighborhood, my little piece of restaurant heaven, and to regale my guests with the rich history of my section of Peachtree Street. It becomes obvious very quickly why my sweet wife Jeri and I wouldn't live anywhere else. When you start making plans to return to Atlanta, shoot me a quick note and I'll send along what Jeri and I like to do for food and fun! Big city! Lots of choices! Sometimes a local's perspective can help. My best! John
