1
Larkin House
Larkin House, built in the 1830s by Thomas Larkin, is one of Monterey’s oldest and most haunted landmarks. The spirit of Larkin’s wife is said to roam the halls, with visitors reporting cold spots and the sound of footsteps when no one is around. The house’s history as a social hub during California’s early days seems to have left a few guests behind.
2
The Monterey Hotel Spa
The Monterey Hotel, a historic boutique hotel, is known for its ghostly residents. Guests have reported strange occurrences, including the sound of footsteps in empty hallways and the sensation of being watched. The hotel’s Victorian charm is accompanied by eerie encounters that leave a lasting impression.

This was my first ghost tour, so I didn't know what to expect. I read a few reviews that outlined what people generally said happened on the tour. When my friends and I showed up to Colton Hall, we were greeted by our guide, Adam. He was super friendly and charismatic, quickly whisking away any awkwardness. We were the first to check in, although, after doing so, he walked around the area before starting to make sure there weren“t any stragglers. We mostly stayed around Colton Hall, visiting the nearby buildings. One group had opted to rent the EMF reader, which went off a few times. Adam continued to be a knowledgable and charismatic storyteller and answered questions as they arose. Overall, it was a really cool experience, and while we didn“t see any ghosts, there were a few interesting moments. I personally enjoyed learning more about Monterey and the people who inhabited it over the centuies. I definitely want to take the ghost tour again and bring my parents. And I also look forward to going through this company again to go on other tours.

Louie was a great guide. He told some really interesting ghost stories about the Monterey area. We felt some unease when the hand held paranormal device started lighting up.

We book 10pm tour and arrive 9:45, we wait until 10:25 the tour team no call no show. Their phone number that list also no one answer. We also walk around the building to see if they have people but not. We called viator, they also can not solve the problem for us. Never book here they will ask you stay in the cold and windy to wait them to get the answer. And they don’t refund to you because they can’t get any solution for you!
