Monument Valley Air and Ground Tour from Phoenix (MVJ)

Overview
The Monument Valley tour includes Sedona, Meteor Crater, and Monument Valley. It begins with a scenic, narrated, flight through the Red Rock formations of Sedona. It then takes in the San Francisco Peaks and the Painted Desert.

The tour continues and may make a brief stop in Page, Arizona, located along the shores of Lake Powell (depending on aircraft).

The flight will continue on to Monument Valley where you will experience the monuments from the air. The flight will land at Gouldings Field, just minutes from Monument Valley, and embark on a guided, 90 minute 4X4 ground tour into the Navajo Tribal Park. Your Navajo guide will provide insights into the culture and beauty of this sacred area. Finally, return to Gouldings Lodge for a delicious Navajo Taco lunch before returning to the airport for the scenic return flight.

What a delight. The flight form Phoenix to the Grand Canyon via Sedona was fascinating. Having spent a few days at south rim it was great to get a different perspective. Then on the the marvels of Monument Valley - Hard to describe and do justice. A Navajo tac lunch and then a flight back rounded out a great day. The staff and pilots were great. All in all well worth the money.

Our pilot, Burt C., was excellent, professional, and quite knowledgeable about our trip to Monument Valley. We were excited to stop in Sedona to pick up another couple to head over the gorgeous Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Painted Desert, and land in Monument Valley to take the ground tour. OMG!!! The views were awesome!!!!!! Pictures didn't do the landscape justice....you have to experience this trip once in a lifetime. :<) Arizona is quite beautiful and thank you West wind employees, tour guides & great pilot for the well planned opportunity to experience such a successful trip! Thank you! Although we do these trips every day, we are all still awed by the incredible scenery of Arizona. Come back and visit again soon!

My wife and I were recently driving across the country, and we had only a handful of hours to take in places like the Grand Caynon, Bryce Canyon, and Arches National Park. On a whim I looked up flights over Monument Valley, and found the Westwind Air Service tour options. Boy am I glad that I did - yes, it's a splurge, but you get SO much for your money. We had a prop plane to ourselves and got to see the Grand Canyon, Navajo Mountain, Lake Powell, Rainbow Arch, Black Mesa, and best of all Monument Valley, where we were flying in and around the buttes. Our pilot Jordan was professional yet laid back, and offered additional information about the area not normally included on the audio guides. We took so many pictures of this incredible part of the country, and I feel like we were able to see so much more than if we'd been driving. If we had had a week or more to explore the area, we might have foregone the money (and probably spent it on lodging) - but with a time crunch, this was an incredible way to see some of the most beautiful places on earth. I wouldn't hesitate to fly with Westwind Air again! Thank you!!
